My name is Drake. I am the owner, founder, bucket washer, order taker and sometimes... unlicensed therapist here at The Fairy God Florist.

 

Flowers have always been a part of the experience but took a back seat until I decided to keep 1 job instead of 3. After a 20 year run of coaching competitive cheerleading and an overlapping 14 years of bartending, my heart found it's way back to flowers, where it had always been.

Flowers found me at a time that I needed them the most. Over the years I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the top floral designers and artists in the industry. After attending and graduating The Floral Design Institute with accreditations, I was able to test for my Certified Floral Designer Certificate through the American Institute of Floral Designers. 

 

A move to Salt Lake City, Utah was an unexpected beginning to an incredible fairy tale that brings me my life's joy. I found my niche in story telling through flowers and capturing a feeling or a moment into everything that I create. Allowing my wild and free imagination to guide my way through a romantic wedding or a hauntingly beautiful Halloween installation is a huge part of my process. I often hear nearly every florist say that they are inspired by nature... (aren't we all?) but, a lot of my inspiration comes from people. All kinds of people and everything about them. Throw in a bit of magic and generous gathering of high quality blooms and we've got a story.

My storybook is always open and ever evolving and as long as I can continue educating and spreading my love for flowers, the story will have no ending.
